Berastagi

Berastagi is the name of the town in Tanah Karo, North Sumatra. Geographically, Berastagi is located on Bukit Barisan highland about 1.300 meters above sea level. The temperature in between 17-19 degrees celsius, which located about 10 kilometers from Kabanjahe. Berastagi itself located on the highlands, flanked by 2 active volcanoes, mount Sibayak, and Sinabung.
 
It is not only temperature, but the air is also cool and the soil is fertile as well. Berastagi town turned out to save a lot of stories since Dutch Colonial was here in early of the 20th century. The presence of Berastagi is known as prolific in producing plenty of vegetables and fruits. Berastagi was the center of plantation area in North Sumatra who managed by Dutch Colonial in 1920. This little town supply vegetables and fruits to Medan and other cities in northern Sumatra.
 
Berastagi City is a bustling city, a hawker of fruit and vegetables along the way. The fruits and vegetables are offered by Berastagi earth ground and orange is the mainstay commodity. Berastagi is also known as City of Passion and Sweet Orange. Passion fruit is processed into syrup and it is typical souvenirs of North Sumatra's product.
